First Dental Visit

Kent Dental Clinic

First Dental Visit

Our dentists and staff are dedicated to giving you and your family high-quality, safe, and gentle dental care. We recognize that fear of going to the dentist may exist in you or your child. We are mindful of your needs and strive to make you feel at ease when visiting our office and receiving the best care available.

Your First Visit Is All About You – Your Comfort, Your Happiness, And Your Health.

We will review your medical and dental history forms during your initial visit and take X-rays of your mouth and teeth. The dentist will then consult with you to go over your X-rays, work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan, and address any concerns you might have. On rare occasions, the consultation and surgery can take place on the same day. A complex medical history or treatment plan, however, might necessitate an assessment and a second session to administer treatment on a different day. In addition to cleaning and polishing your teeth, we will examine your gums and teeth for any early indications of gingivitis or tooth decay as well as any cavities.

Bring Your Smile, But Also Remember To Bring These With You To Your First Appointment

  • Your completed patient information form
  • If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the insurance card and necessary completed forms. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.
  • Your surgical referral slip and any x-rays if applicable.
  • A list of medications you are presently taking.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.

A preoperative consultation and physical examination is mandatory for patients undergoing IV anesthesia for surgery. Please have nothing to eat or drink eight hours prior to your surgery. You will also need an adult to drive you home.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medications (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).

X-Rays

If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional films are necessary they can be taken at our facility.
Regular Checkups Are An Important Part Of Maintaining A Healthy Smile!

The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.

We understand that you have a busy schedule, so when you’re preparing to visit the dentist, please remember that your appointments can last between 45 and 90 minutes.
