Oral Hygiene at Work

After lunch, do you brush your teeth? You probably don’t have the time or resources to brush during the day if you’re one of the millions of people who work outside the home. Even though you can’t brush, you can still take care of your teeth at work.

Grab a drink of water. Get a drink of water once you’ve finished eating. Spit or swallow the water after giving it a good swishing in your mouth. After eating a meal or snack, water can help you eliminate any microscopic food particles that could still be on your teeth.

Chew sugarless gum. The American Dental Association (ADA) has authorized specific varieties of sugarless gum as beneficial to your oral health. This is due to the fact that chewing encourages salivation in the mouth. Saliva removes food residue and aids in balancing acids on your teeth.

Limit time drinking coffee or soda. Numerous beverages, including coffee, soda, tea, and others, have significant sugar and acid content. Your teeth are exposed to these decay-causing agents for a longer period of time the longer you sip your beverage. Drink rapidly to limit exposure, then rinse your mouth or switch to water to help counteract the effects rather than taking little swallows for an hour.

Brush and floss when you can. When you are at home, try to maintain a regular schedule of good dental hygiene habits. Brush for a full two minutes at least twice every day. Use an interdental cleaning of your choice or floss once daily. Keep your scheduled appointments to have our staff examine and clean your teeth.

Your workday doesn’t have to be disrupted by brushing your teeth. Your mouth can be shielded from tooth decay, periodontal disease, and other oral health difficulties by remembering these straightforward suggestions.
